The observability tooling has reflected this emphasis on the backend. Monitoring tools for log management and backend metrics have existed for decades, helping developers debug their server infrastructure.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Today, web frontends have more work to do. Detailed components in frameworks such as React and Angular might respond quickly without waiting for a network request, with their mutations being processed entirely in the browser. This results in better user experiences, but more work is being done on the client side, away from the backend observability tools.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Matt Arbesfeld is a co-founder of LogRocket, a tool that records and plays back browser sessions and allows engineers to look at those sessions to understand what kinds of issues are occurring in the user\u2019s browser.
