Here are the free NBA picks for Tuesday, January 13.
Best NBA plays Tuesday January 13th
- Heat (-1.5) vs. Suns
- Bucks (-3.5) vs. Timberwolves
- Thunder (-7.5) vs. Spurs
Heat (-1.5) vs. Suns – 7:00 p.m. ET
The Heat return home following an 0-3 road trip, capped off by a 12-point loss at Oklahoma City on Sunday. Miami is 13-6 at home this season, including a 6-2 mark against Western Conference foes.
The Suns head east to begin a six-game road trip, which continues to Detroit and New York later this week. Phoenix is riding a three-game winning streak and owns a 12-1 mark against the spread in the last 13 outings. However, the Suns are 0-4 in their past four as a road underdog.
This line has flipped to Miami as a short favorite and the Heat should get on track here on their home floor to slow down the Suns.

Bucks (-3.5) vs. Timberwolves – 8:00 p.m. ET
Milwaukee is back home after splitting a four-game road trip out west. The Bucks defeated the Kings and Lakers, but lost the finale to the Nuggets on Sunday, 108-104.
That is key since the Bucks have won four straight games off a loss, as they welcome the Timberwolves. Minnesota is riding a 5-1 stretch after rallying past San Antonio, 104-103 on Sunday. The Wolves trailed by 14 points heading into the fourth quarter, but Minnesota failed to cover for the second straight game.
The Bucks try to avenge a 103-100 loss at Minnesota in late December, as Giannis Antetokounmpo didn’t play in that defeat. The Greek Freak is averaging nearly 30 points in eight games since returning from injury.

Thunder (-7.5) vs. Spurs – 8:00 p.m. ET
This is the game circled on the calendar for OKC, who looks to avoid an 0-4 record against San Antonio. The Spurs have defeated the Thunder in three different cities, winning in Las Vegas, San Antonio, and Oklahoma City.
The Thunder seeks their fourth straight win, but OKC has failed to cover the spread in five consecutive games. Granted, four of those non-covers came as a double-digit favorite. Tonight’s spread is more manageable against a Spurs team that split a pair of road games at Boston and Minnesota.
San Antonio has defeated Oklahoma City as double-digit underdogs, but the Thunder will be ready for this game, especially after the Spurs blew a huge lead in Sunday’s loss at Minnesota.
